I am a health freak and one of the areas that I am very concerned about is my skin. I was born with sensitive skin and because of this, I have had many experience about skin moisturizers and today I would love to share with you about how to moisturize skin.
The secret ingredient to all moisturizers is Glycerine. It is a lubricant based substance that softens the skin and also makes it smoother. In many moisturizers, this is the key ingredients. The rest of it would likely to be made out of harsh chemicals, fragrances, fruit extracts and vitamins. If you are serious about keeping your skin moisturized, I suggest you stay away from these harmful products. Most famous cosmetics company that focuses on beauty, rather than health, uses these ingredients and I don’t recommend them. I think that they are more for your skin to smell nice than to be moisturized.
I recommend brands that are focused on skin diseases such as eczema. I don’t know about other countries but in Australia, one of the brands I trust the most is QV. They have a wide variety of skin products and the one I use the most is QV Intensive Moisturizer. At first you may think that it is oil based, but in fact it is not. It will not block your pores or cause acne, however it is very oily. What I do is mix it with some Sorbolene cream. Sorbolene cream can be available anywhere and for a very cheap price. By mixing the QV Moisturizer and the Sorbolene, it would reduce the oily concentration of the cream and make your skin less shiny. If you are someone that has sensitive skin like me and needs to stay away from heat, I suggest adding 0.25% of Methol too. You can do this at the pharmacist but can take a long time.
Putting cream on your skin is just one step of having beautiful skin. Other factors such as drinking water and getting enough sleep are vital too. Try to stay out of the sun, wear sunscreen and follow common sense. These will all give you a better and more moisturized skin!
