The movie, Avatar, had raised lot of concerns with it being racist because the planet, Pandora, was invaded by White people and then having a White person being the leader of that world. So is Avatar Racist? People have argued why the leader couldn’t be of another race such as Black or even Chinese.
The whole production was created by Hollywood, and everyone knows Hollywood is made up by mostly White people so obviously they surely would support their own race. There is nothing wrong with it and is a very human thing to do. If you look towards another entertainment industry such as Japanese Anime, you’ll be surprised to see this trait is also followed. Look at the Sailor Moon series for example. It foretells the future Earth to be ruled by Japan and the Queen would be Sailor Moon herself. Is this racist? To most people, they wouldn’t even have registered the term, racist, until now.
So why is Avatar seen as racist? Why is it a bad thing for the White race to take pride in themselves? In my opinion I think the people criticizing the movie of being racist are the racist one themselves!
